A few weeks ago, Seam was presented with the incredible opportunity to debut our soon-to-be released personal safety device, the Lotus, at Toronto Men’s Fashion Week for the wearable tech runway show presented by Electric Runway.

The day of the show was thrilling. Lotus, which is in the final stages of production, has only been seen and used in various phases of prototyping. This was our first opportunity to present the Lotus to a large public audience. We’re extremely proud of the beautiful and sleek design of this product, so showcasing it at Toronto Men’s Fashion Week was a perfect fit.

As we took our seats, the lights dimmed and down-tempo electronic music played throughout the venue. One by one, the models came out, each wearing different devices, but all equally innovative. Some that accompanied Lotus on the runway were, ‘eSight Eyewear’ – electronic glasses that let the legally blind see, Muse, a brain-sensing headband that helps improve your meditation, and Fabrikite’s ‘O2,’ a stylish mask that improves the air you breathe.

The evening was a feast for the senses and left us buzzing with energy. It was, “fashion meets function” in the truest sense. We were thrilled to to showcase the Lotus device, something into which that we’ve put a lot of thought, hard work and love. We can’t wait for it to be released and for you all to see that, although it may look really good, it’s so much more than just a pretty face.
